Industrial Mapping and Earthwork Verification

RTK-enabled aerial mapping with placed ground control, processed into a point cloud, contours, and volumes you can set next to a grading plan or an earthwork pay item.

What you get

Every engagement, every time.

Earthwork disputes are almost always disputes about quantity. A dated surface, captured the same way each month, converts that into arithmetic.

  • RTK flight with placed and measured ground control points
  • Orthomosaic and dense point cloud
  • 3D model with contour generation at your interval
  • Cut and fill volumetric calculations against a reference surface
  • Grading conformance comparison to the design surface
  • GeoTIFF, LAS or LAZ, DXF, and PDF exports

Who uses it

Built for the person who has to defend the decision.

Site contractors and earthwork subs

Verify quantities against what was claimed and what was paid, on a cadence that matches the pay cycle rather than the argument cycle.

Industrial developers and owners

Independent verification of earthwork progress on the projects where earthwork is the largest early risk on the schedule.

Civil engineers and owners representatives

Current surface data between survey visits, in formats that drop into the tools you already use.

What the deliverable looks like

A surface, not a snapshot.

The orthomosaic is the base layer everything else is measured against. Geometrically corrected, scaled, and tied to ground control, so a distance measured on it is a distance on the ground rather than an estimate off a photograph.

From the same flight we produce the point cloud, contours at your interval, and cut and fill volumes against a reference surface. Delivered in your coordinate system and vertical datum.

Pricing

Published starting points.

Fixed price quoted before we fly. Monthly retainers are the normal structure on active earthwork, because a single capture has nothing to compare against.

Scope and limitations Griffin AirWorks is not a licensed surveying firm. All mapping, measurement, elevation, contour, and volumetric output is provided for informational purposes only, is not a record survey, and carries no licensed surveyor stamp. Where a record survey, a stamped plan, a boundary determination, or a certification requiring a professional land surveyor is needed, engage a licensed surveyor. We work alongside surveyors regularly and are happy to deliver into their workflow.

Common questions

How accurate is the data?

Accuracy depends on ground control density, flight altitude, site conditions, and what you are measuring. We size ground control to the tolerance the deliverable needs and state the achieved control residuals in the report rather than quoting a marketing number.

Does this replace a survey?

No. It is not a record survey and carries no surveyor stamp. It is a current, dense, dated surface you can measure against between survey visits, and it is frequently used to check quantities before a pay cycle closes.

What file formats do you deliver?

GeoTIFF orthomosaic, LAS or LAZ point cloud, DXF contours, and a PDF report. Tell us the coordinate system and vertical datum your civil team is working in and we will deliver in it.

Who places the ground control points?

We do, as part of the mission. Site access and a safety briefing need to be arranged in advance, which we handle with your superintendent when we schedule.

Ready to get this on the calendar?

Send the site address and what you need. We come back with scope, a fixed price, and the first available window, usually the same business day.
